Worcester-Bosch Greenstar 30Si

The Worcester-Bosch Greenstar 30Si is a condensing combination boiler for domestic hot water and sealed central heating systems. The Greenstar 30Si is compact – and light at just 27kg – enough to be hung on a wall and to be manhandled, easily, by just one person. The boiler is typically suitable for installation in a medium-sized house or flat with just a single bathroom. The Worcester-Bosch Greenstar 30Si is neverthless highly energy efficient – "A" rated according to the SEDBUK ("Seasonal Efficiency of Domestic Boilers in the United Kingdom") database maintained by the British Government – and has some exclusive design features.

The WB3 heat cell for example allows exhaust gases – which would otherwise be lost through the boiler flue – to be cooled to around 55°C such that the heat they contain is recycled by the system. This means that the Worcester-Bosch Greenstar 30Si is anything up to 20% more energy efficient than an older boiler resulting in lower fuel costs and environmental impact.

Features of the Worcester-Bosch Greenstar 30Si boiler include:

  • Compact, H710mm x W400mm x 330mm, dimensions and light weight
  • 12.3 litres (2.7 Imperial gallons) of hot water per minute
  • Wall mounting jig with pipe work behind so that none is exposed
  • Robust and efficient WB3 series heat cell
  • Sophisticated control systems for domestic hot water and central heating including RF ("Radio Frequency") controlled room thermostat
  • "Keep hot" facility in primary heat cell for instant hot water
  • Low environmentally damaging emissions (CO2 and NOx)
  • Built-in frost protection

Mine was installed November 2007. Just been told today Jan 8 2010 (by a £146 /half hour emergency engineer) that corrosion and resultant water spill means I need a new boiler
